Wollongong Touch is pleased to announce its coaches for the 2020 NSW Touch Vawdon Cup.

After a successful trial day, The Devils are hoping to field several new teams in a yet to be advised Vawdon Cup competition.

Again the Men’s Premier League team will lead the charge and they’ll be coached by NSW Men’s Open Coach Joel Willoughby. A strong division one Men’s team will intensify a push for Premier League spots in season 2020, with Steve Sopher named Head Coach and Simon Farrugia his assistant.

The Women’s Open team will be coached by Tim Robinson, with several new and young players showing interest in being involved in a Division campaign at Vawdon Cup. Adam Sargent-Wilson has come on board as Assistant Coach providing plenty of leadership and enthusiasm for the young squad.

In a first, Wollongong will be looking to field teams in the Boys and Girls Youth divisions. Scott Harford has been named Coach of the Youth Boys, with Nathan Fien his assistant. The Youth boys had a strong showing at trials, with a great group ready to carry forward the future of the Devils.

Cara Zaremski will coach the Youth Girls, which will work closely alongside the Women’s Open program throughout the campaign as some impressive Devils juniors continue to develop their amazing talents in their first senior tournament.

Coaches are set to finalise their Vawdon Cup squads once NSW Touch releases the structure and dates for the tournament. Training and trials will continue throughout this time, with players who missed the recent club trial encouraged to contact the club if they have an interest in playing.
